A BCD or Buoyancy Control Device is a key element in diving. It gives you the ability to adjust and control your overall buoyancy and your heavy equipment allowing you to achieve neutral buoyancy, remaining at constant depth, or to descend or ascend in a controlled way. Up in this frigid water, good buoyancy is more difficult to maintain than down in warmer waters. You need a BC that will compensate for the excess amounts of weight you're using for cold water.
